I’m so excited to tell you about the October Close To My Heart special which makes it a great time to join me as a Close To My Heart Consultant!

Through October 31, when you purchase the new consultant kit for $99, you will get to choose one add-on collection with a retail value of $80 - $130 for FREE! These add-ons are only available at enrollment and usually have a pricetag of $40 each. The new consultant basic kit which includes both creative and business products with retail value of $280. By taking advantage of this special, you get $360 - $410 in retail value for just $99.

There are three optional add-ons to choose from: Roxie, Elemental or Studio J. Click here to see ictures of each of them. Would you like more than one add-on collection? No problem! You can easily purchase the others for just $40 each when you apply.

There are lots of reasons to become a CTMH consultant. Below, I've listed some things to consider if you have a scrapbooking or card-making hobby and not necessarily looking for a business opportunity at this time. You will be happy to know that CTMH welcomes “hobbyists” into the consultant family. I’d like to take a few minutes to explain how becoming a consultant can help you as a hobbyist.
  1. For just $99 you receive lots of great paper crafting supplies. New tools, album, papers, stamps, blocks and embellishments will build your creative arsenal. With the free add-on special in October, you get even more crafting supplies OR a Studio J membership PLUS five layouts to get you started creating digital scrapbook pages. Note the consultant kit price of $99 is the regular price for a 12-month Studio J subscription!
  2. For all future purchases, you will receive the base consulting commission of 22%. Logistically, this acts as a discount at check out for all of your personal orders. If you collect a few orders from friends to earn additional commissions which will further offset your hobby purchases and help you meet your low quarterly minimums.
  3. As a consultant, you are automatically enrolled in a top notch online training program. If you are looking for ways to bring your scrapbooking or card making skills to the next level, the creative training classes will help you meet this goal. There are also courses in business, personal development and leadership that you can take if you decide to go beyond being a hobbyist. The courses are on-demand and you decide how much or little time you want to devote to them.
  4. Finally, you will enter a fun and dynamic community of other consultants.  Once you join, you will have access to CTMH’s consultant-only bulletin boards where you can share artwork, workshop ideas, business topics and much more with other consultants. You also have the opportunity to attend the annual convention and other regional conferences. I had tons of fun at the 2011 convention and left with an overwhelming number of ideas to try and loads of excitement. I would love to road trip with you to Dallas next July!
Ready to sign up? Click here to get started!  Once you are official, I will send you a welcome to my team kit. Please send me an email if you have any quesitons.

Art Philosophy Ideas from Jeanette

Are you curious what you can do with the new Art Philosophy cricut cartridge? Each day in October Close To My Heart founder Jeanette Lynton is featuring a different shape from the cartridge on her blog.

Today is day 10 and there are already many cool ideas ranging from layouts, cards, gift bags, tags, and much more. Click on this link to see for yourself. Which project is your favorite? Mine is the gift box on Day 6. Emily made a similar one last night out of Wonderland paper. So easy, but super cute!

Don't forget that in addition to this awesome cartridge, you will get three stamp sets and three sheets of chipboard shapes that coordinate with the shapes on the cartridge.

Whimsical Birthday Cards

I'm excited to show you the birthday cards we will be making at the November 20 workshop. I guess I was in a whimsical mood when I designed them because all of these turned out bright, simple and fun.

I'm a summer person at heart. As I was thinking about making cards in November, I felt the need to make them colorful and cheerful. So, no matter what the weather is like on the outside, these cards will brighten the spirit of the birthday folks you send them to.

Take a peek:

So what do you think? You may have noticed that we are using a new card making tool this month: the lighter. So you get to play with paper, stamps and fire! Don't you want to join us?

Still hesitant? We are a friendly group of ladies and we will do our best to make you feel welcome immediately. Even if you have never made cards before you can make these cards. We will make them one simple step at a time together. All the while, we'll be chatting about life, our kids, our jobs, pets and just about everything else. (As we like to say, it is cheaper than therapy.)

Here's the details:
November 20, 2011
2:30 - 5:00 pm

You will make 12 cards (4 of each of the three designs pictured above) for $12.

So put it on your calendar and come to my house for a fun girls afternoon. Bring a friend or make one once you get here!

Holiday Magic - October SOTM

The 80 degree plus weather we have been having here is Missouri certainly doesn't make me think that Christmas is coming anytime soon. I'm actually writing this post sitting out on the deck in capris and a short sleeved shirt enjoying a day that is about as beautiful as a day can be. This is not typical for a Missouri Fall day.  However, the leaves are starting to change,  and  the calendar on my computer says it is almost the middle of October. So logically, I will deduce that Christmas is coming.

The October Stamp of the Month, Holiday Magic, will help you get started on your Christmas projects. This stamp set has traditional Christmas images of a tree, sleigh and stocking. A few snowflakes and holly leaves are thrown in for decoration. In addition, some short and sweet holiday wishes are included to round out the set.

Instructions for making all of the projects in the picture above are posted on the CTMH website under Campaigns and Promotions. Click here to open that page.

The first thing I made with this stamp set is this sleigh card.  To get the background trees of various heights, I stamped them on the card base before adding the checked foreground paper.

Buttoned Up Card Video

If you like chunky bling, the cards featured in this video are right up your alley. My style is a little simpler, but I still love this stamp set. If you are a "less is more" person, just leave off some of the buttons, brads and bling. The stamped images will show through beautifully.
These cards are also featured on p. 99 of the Autumn/Winter 2011 Idea Book. Please let me know if you have any questions about the project or would like to order the supplies to make one yourself.
